Chetan Katigar

A young talented well-known contemporary artist Chetan Katigar is from Karnataka. People recognized him for his signature style of mythological paintings. He uses vibrant and attractive colors and draws a black outline and uses the perfect color combinations for all the figures. It looks like folk art with a contemporary look. He says the art is his soul which comes out not only with his hands but also through his thought, emotions, voice, and physical actions. Art was one of his favorite subjects since his school days which grew along with him. The common thing one will find in his art is love, whether it is with the human itself or with the animals and nature. The love between couples, men and women, animals and the kindness of friendships are all made by him with full feelings. He has made many mythological paintings based on Lord Krishna, paired either with Radha, Arjun, or other village people of that era. He also makes paintings of people in the village dancing and celebrating, couples in villages, friendships and nature all going along, with a central theme of happiness and cheerfulness.
