Description
Set within the etiquette of a formal place setting, the anatomically rendered heart becomes a ceremonial “main course,” forcing intimacy with what is usually kept hidden and inviolate. The warm sepia etching—precise, almost devotional—contrasts with the cold, jagged scatter of broken glass, where reflection and fracture turn the surrounding space into a field of danger and aftermath. This opposition of tenderness and harm reads as a quiet indictment of consumption: love and vulnerability offered up, then left in shards, as if emotional sustenance has been mistaken for appetite. The work’s careful framing and scorched paper edges further suggest an exhibit of evidence—an autopsy of feeling staged as domestic ritual.
