Description
A compact, house-like volume of warm wood is lifted by a clustered thicket of bronzed legs, turning architecture into a burden and the body into unseen infrastructure. The stark division of materials—grainy, luminous timber above and dark, tensile flesh below—creates a moral chiaroscuro where comfort is literally supported by labor, compressed into a single, unsettling emblem. With its small arched openings like mute doorways, the form hints at shelter and exclusion at once, inviting the viewer to consider who is permitted to “live” within a structure and who is condemned to carry it. The sculpture’s poised stillness reads as both monument and indictment, a quiet tableau of dependence that refuses to resolve into innocence.
