A monumental rooster presides over a village reduced to sharp, interlocking planes, where slanted roofs and window frames become a fractured geometry of shelter rather than comfort. The near-monochrome, grainy tonality compresses light into a brooding dusk, making the white flower motifs read like fragile acts of remembrance pinned against an encroaching weight. Below, the reclining figure—softly contoured yet abandoned to the ground—introduces a human vulnerability that the rigid architecture cannot contain, as if the body has slipped out of the town’s logic. The work stages a tense allegory of vigilance and collapse: a sentinel above, a fallen presence beneath, and a community caught between ornamented hope and stark inevitability.
