A young talent from Bengal, Amlan Dutta is fascinated by the intrinsic beauty of his birthplace, the heritage city of Kolkata . He feels that beneath the chaos, there is an inherent grace and magnetic vitality which makes it worth the effort to explore and discover by peeling off the extraneous layers. He highlights antiquated red double-decker buses, horse carriages, blue buses, hand pulled rickshaws, yellow cabs and steamers in the Hooghly, all integral symbols of colonial Kolkata, against majestic backdrops in his series of paintings.
