Diksha Dhingra

Born on 17 June 1994 in India, I live in the small village district of Haryana, State of India. My secondary education was completed at the Aglo Senior Secondary School Pundri.I was not interested in art, but my parents wanted me to do something different. Because no one else had a degree in Fine Arts in my village, I was admitted to the Fine Arts Department, Kurukshetra University. Gradually, I became interested inart and choose applied art in the second year of the bachelor program because I had to do computer training and photography. But for some reason I choose the medium of painting and did my graduation project in the field of painting. In the final year of the bachelor course, my interest turned to printmaking. I began working with the international artist Dr. Rakesh Bani. An excellent teacher, I completed my masters with him in the field of printmaking. I worked in all mediums of printmaking: lithography, woodcut, serigraphy, intaglio, and others using many techniques, including chincolle, viscosity, collography. I experimented extensively before forming a personal style and developing my own talent, inspired by my teacher, Dr. Rakesh Bani. I worked more on the theme of chess. I have received awards for my work. My favorite mediums are woodcut and lithography. I have attended workshops. I have lived abroad and want to make prints. This is a medium that people in the town near my village know nothing about. I want to tell them that printmaking is also a part of art. I may establish a printmaking studio in the near future where students can continue their printmaking after completing their education.
