Gopal Nandurkar

Education: Graduation in Applied Art (1993) from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune, First Class First, Standing third in the Order of Merit Achievements: Three of my Pastel works have been selected by the Kennedy Publishing, USA included in the Best Of Worldwide Pastel & Pencil Book Volume II, 2011. Co-authored and illustrated the following art instructional books published by Jyotsna Prakashan: “Methods and Techniques – Colour Pencil” “Methods and Techniques – Pastel” Pencil Techniques – Graphite Pencil Techniques - II Experience: Working as freelance artist in the field of Illustrations and Paintings. Illustrated many books, book covers and comic books for several publications and print media. Richly illustrated Sulabh Ramayan and Sulabh Mahabharata authored by noted children’s Writer Late Shri Raja Mangalvedhekar. The illustrations done for this book were independently exhibited in the Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Arts, Mumbai. Working as a visiting Faculty for the Symbiosis Institute of Design. His paintings are in collection of many private and corporate collectors in India and abroad. Gopal mainly paints landscapes, portraiture, figurative works and narrative paintings. He also writes articles related to art and art appreciation for various newspapers. He has also participated in art appreciation programmes on Pune Akashwani radio as well as Radio One. Solo Show: August 2018 “Transcribing Beauty” – exhibition of recent paintings at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. Duo Exhibition: Exhibited works in the show titled “Colour Echoes” at Nehru Centre AC Gallery, Mumbai in October 2016. Exhibited works in the show titled “Voyage of Colours - 2011” at Nehru Centre AC Gallery, Mumbai in August 2011. Exhibited works in the show titled “Voyage of Colours” at Nehru Centre AC Gallery, Mumbai in October 2008. Selected Group: Shows: Group show based on work done in the Wai Art Camp, at Vishrambaugwada Art Gallery, Pune, 2017. Participated in a group show “Allegiance to Beauty” November 2015, at the Ravi Paranjape Studio. Participated in a group show Art Rhythm, December 2012, Pune. Exhibited works in a group show called “Sagun – Nirgun”, October 2009 at Bal Gandharva Kaladalan, Pune as a part of Shri. Ravi Paranjape Amrutmahotsav Samiti celebrations. Participated in the Art Fusion Shows 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 organized by Nehru Center, Worli, Mumbai. Exhibited works as a part of Representational Artists of Pune, March 2007.
