Rupchand Kundu

I am a professional painter and installation artist working last 35 years. Art graduate from Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata with first class in the year 1983. From the beginning I used realism on my canvas to capture beauty. Now I am searching truth and consciousness of beauty which reflects in my art. Through this space I want to walk through people through my journey of experiment.BIOGRAPHY OF RUPCHAND KUNDU Rupchand Kundu, a painter and installation artist from India, working last 35 years with naturalistic style, on which he has achieved an adroit skill. Beauty of nature attracts him. He sees highest manifestation of this beauty in human being particularly in woman. Nature and woman are two of this important themes he constantly works on. Beauty for him always contains an intrinsic harmony and transcendental mysticism. The prime agenda of his creativity is to externalize that internal transcendence. He thus transforms the ephemeral or transience into an illuminated tune of eternity. He avoids unnecessary complexity of form so that art can touch the common people. Through rendering of external beauty, he always tries to enter into the deeper level of consciousness with subtle reflection of the luminosity contained in the unconscious. He made his BVA IN Fine Arts from Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 1983. This institution established in 1854, along with its sister concern Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, has a great tradition of art practice in academic naturalistic style.
