‘I have explored new paths with some different techniques and styles creating something unique. Getting a good response and acceptance of the art form, even from people who do not understand the language, gave me the courage to explore more. As most of my works are a mix of calligraphy and Graffiti (Calli-Graffiti) it comes through as contemporary though I have done a few using traditional calligraphy from the Holy Quran and also works on Urdu / Arabic calligraphy very closely resembling Persian art as well’, says Ahsan.
The color palette is bright, dark, cool, warm, muted, and neutral. The play of calligraphy on the powerful base of colors creates a unique space of aesthetics. In the play of revealing and hiding, the layers give depth and dimension to the work. The text engages the viewer in its sereneness. The work comes as abstract expressionism, which is merged with expressive calligraphy, which again looks like a beautiful play of form on the substrate. Intricate yet bold forms on the surface of the canvas call one to indulge in the moment, engrossing oneself in the exquisiteness. The limitations of the mind are transgressed, and the language becomes a form flowing elegantly through the canvas onto the soul of the viewer.
